Wildhorse wash fused glass tile

$40.00 / On Sale

4.5" x 6.5" fused glass display tile, depicting Wildhorse Wash Petroglyphs, Emery County Utah. Wildhorse Canyon Petroglyph. The original images are in deep red, but for this tile, I thought black stood out really well. It is estimated these pictographs were painted sometime between 400 A.D. and 1100 A.D. The original petroglyph is in the last picture.
The crackle glass part of this tile was made first, using multiple layers of powder glass frit, with a clear backing piece, so it's transparent when held up to the light.
I reproduced images of cave drawings and petroglyphs and burned them onto a silkscreen, and then screened the images onto the top layer of glass, by pressing fine glass powder through the screen, then I fire them again in the kiln at a low tack-fuse temperature.
Signed and dated on the back.
I use all Bullseye 90COE soft glass.
