Utah ancient art glass tile

$40.00 / On Sale

4.5" x 6.5" fused glass display tile, depicting pictographs from "The Great Gallery" in Horseshoe Canyon, Utah. It is estimated these pictographs were painted sometime between 400 A.D. and 1100 A.D. The original petroglyph is in the last picture.
The crackle glass part of this tile was made first, using multiple layers of powder glass frit, with a clear backing piece, so it's transparent when held up to the light. I then reproduced images of cave drawings and petroglyphs and burned them onto a silkscreen, and then screened the images onto the top layer of glass, by pressing fine glass powder through the screen, then I fire them again in the kiln at a low tack-fuse temperature.
Signed and dated on the back.
I use all Bullseye 90COE soft glass.
