Sego Canyon, Utah, pictograph glass art tile
3.75" x 5.25" fused glass dish, depicting pictographs from Sego Canyon, Utah.
The crackle glass part of these tiles are made first, using multiple layers of powder glass frit, with a clear backing piece, so it's transparent when held up to the light. I then reproduce images of cave drawings and petroglyphs and burn them onto a silkscreen, and then screen the images onto the top layer of glass, by pressing fine glass powder through the screen, then fire them again in the kiln at a low tack-fuse temperature.
Perfect size for a soap dish or tray to keep your small doo-dads on. I like to use mine to hold all my tiny crystals, trade beads, and arrowheads. :)
Signed and dated on the back.
I use all Bullseye 90COE soft glass.
